Alun-Alun Kota Blitar — Attraction in Blitar

Let me tell you, this spot is the bee's knees and the heart of the town's shindigs. As the sun goes down the horizon, folks flock here like moths to a flame. You’ll find vendors peddling everything from tasty treats to knick-knacks party. This place is a real hoot for families, especially the kiddos.

Daytime? this place is as dead as a doornail. You’ll mostly spot a handful of bored souls or wayward tourists like yours truly: me. And boy, is it scorching! Unless you're dying to roast like a marshmallow and soak up every drop of tropical sunshine, there’s zero to do when the sun is high. Dehydration alert: ding ding ding 🚑

Last thing, every now and then, you might stumble upon an event or see it buzzing as a hub for local gatherings and activities. I'm not sure about the schedule. Maybe you can find it in internet.

Here’s a nugget from my experience: the sweet spot to hit this place is late afternoon or evening. Park yourself on a bench, people-watch, and munch on some snacks. Then, why not get a kite from one of the vendors and let it soar? Not too bad right? In fact that's a joyful thing to do! When you're in high spirits, fun times are just around the corner.

The first time i went to that place. Its outside from my imagine, i think all alun-alun has characteristic, and that place is the good one. Big field, with the huge grass, after you enter to the gate, you found and looked the beutiful place, and there are games which can be used by the children in that place, ex. Small Motorcycle sometimes they get their child zone haha. And than there are food street it could make you feel free, with much variant so you can choose one of it. And also, before i forgot. There is one place, you can make family gathering there is, statue, but i dont the name, but there fishing statue, in the below there are electric so we can not touch the water in the below. It so beautiful. So what are you waiting for.... come to this place ALUN...

Ada sejumlah fasilitas yang dapat menunjang para wisatawan yang datang untuk berziarah ataupun berwisata di makam Bung Karno.  Dalam satu area makam, terdapat mushola yang nyaman dan luas dengan kamar mandi yang bersih. Selain itu, ada gazebo dengan foto dan tulisan Soekarno.  Di luar komplek, pengunjung juga bisa menemukan lahan parkir kendaraan, toilet, taman, dinding berisi kisah perjalanan hidup Bung Karno, toko suvenir, hingga perpustakaan dan museum Sang Proklamator. Salah satunya adalah wisata Alun-Alun Kota Blitar yang menjadi satu dari sekian banyaknya saksi bisu perjalanan masa lalu Kabupaten Blitar.

Dikutip Radar Tulungagung oleh Jawapos, dahulu pusat pemerintahan Kabupaten Blitar berada di daerah pinggir Sungai Pakunden.

Namun, kemudian pusat pemerintahan itu dipindahkan oleh Bupati Blitar pertama, Mr. Aryo Ronggo Hadinegoro karena dampak letusan Gunung Kelud.

Tak luput pula, Alun-Alun Kota Blitar juga turut menjadi korban erupsi Gunung Kelud pada masa kolonial Belanda.

Diketahui, pada masa itulah Alun-Alun Kota Blitar menjadi tempat diselenggarakannya ritual rampogan macan.

Rampogan macan adalah sebuah ritual yang menampilkan perkelahian antara manusia dengan macan atau harimau.

Alun-Alun Blitar menjadi arena bagi pertarungan antara hewan buas dengan manusia tersebut secara turun temurun.

Konon karena ritual itulah, populasi harimau Jawa jadi sangat menurun drastis dan hampir punah.

Bahkan pernah, pada tahun 1887, sebanyak 8 ekor harimau sekaligus dibantai dalam satu waktu untuk memeriahkan pernikahan putra Bupati Blitar, RM Djojosoeparto.

Begitulah, Rampogan Macan lebih dipandang sebagai sarana rekreasi oleh warga Blitar zaman dahulu.
