Taman Akuarium Air Tawar TMII — Attraction in Jakarta

Not worth it, expensive experience, lack of facilities or most of facilities look old and not been well maintained. 66k+ for two entrance tickets + motorbike (which not allowed to used to go around TMII areas, but cars are allowed to, so unfair. Don't know where to park, lack of signs). 55K/ticket for Dunia Air Tawar & Insects Museum. The only good place to take pics as seen at the bottom. The insects museum so small, nothing much to see. Butterfly park with not a single of butterfly. 27,5K/ticket for the Science Museum. Not as seen as the ads, thought there'll be more to experiment and try but the building is old & ddar, not well maintained, no staff at 2nd to 4th floor. Interactive moduls mostly broken. In the evening around 6:30pm there'll be fountain shows, which they said will be drone show. The place is at the lake/pond, peoples from edge to edge, too crowded, no place to sit to enjoy the show. The show is on thr middle, so from the side, you can't see or hear any from the story that's playing. Just manage to see the colorful fountains. Came here during the last days of ramadan, the place was silent with less than 20 visitors inside. Interesting fishes here are mostly from south america, or amazon to be precise. They have big fishes like arapaima and those odd featured fishes look like from dinosaurs age. Fresh water fishes dress darker outfits, not colorful ones like seawater fishes. Aquariums are well maintained, rooms and walkways are clean. A cheap place to visit for day trip with kids, idr 25k per person, free for kids under 80 cm tall. The same ticket includes an entrance to the insects world nearby. So, 25k/person for 2 places. That price is much cheaper than ancol's seaworld - but yes they display sea fishes there,...

TMII Fresh Water Aquarium is quite big surrounded by somekind like a lake. The building is lack of care since the place is kinda dirty and old. But still pretty good. When i was there it was weekdays so there wasn't many people.

The animals collection is pretty good comes from Indonesia and other countries. There are two installations that resemble river ecosystem. There are big fishes including arapaima and fresh water sharks. There are also small fishes, so beautiful.

The ticket price is 30K rupiah for one adult. But by this price you could also come to Insects Museum that is located next to the Fresh...
