Imax Golden Snail Theater is a giant snail, a place for special film screenings and performances with advanced technology, founded on Mother Tien Soeharto's initiative, and began operating on April 20, 1984. The Golden snail Theater was opened on April 20th 1984 and was the largest theater screen in the world! Equipped with the latest cinema technology IMAX 70mm, it hosted its own films made with the IMAX Technology like Indonesia Indah I to IV. After 20 years holding the record, in 2004 Golden Snail Cinema made an upgrade to IMAX DMR (Digital ReMastering) making it possible to re master 35mm movies to 70mm. Known as the biggest IMAX theatre in Indonesia (instead of Gandaria city & others). But unfortunately they just play an old imax movie that is always repeated for daily routine, in other words they dont play popular/hollywood movie for long (in fact they screened star trek in this theatre once).

For the big screen quality no one can beat this theatre, but for the audio quality i think they weren't really good because some of the speakers were died (in the left part if i'm not mistaken). many of them actually were to old too for screening qualities. I hope they fixed many aspects of this theatre, and hopely the theatre will screen some...
