Meru Temple — Attraction in Mataram

The worst place ever! Don’t waste ur time and money here!! To be honest there is nothing here and all are empty!!!

At the entrance, you will be stopped by this one man (I name him conned man) Bcos he appear in the same picture by other reviewers. Yes he will demand from you at least IDR50K for two!

Bloody lazy guy and talk low about Muslim religion to the Hindu. He demanded for the money so called for the grass cutter of the temple area! I asked him why I need to pay for the temple? His answer was simple that the government doesn’t help the Hindu population due to minority at Lombok! So the visitors or foreigners have to pay to help them!

Though in ur conversion rate, IDR50K for two is little, please consider not to give him. Go to the minimum of 5k- 10k each! If he charged more, there’s no regret ur not going inside as there is none there! I repeat, it’s none!

I'd give this zero stars if I could as there are teo people at the entrance of this temple who would try to scam you. The start at 50,000 IDR and when you tell them Google reviews said it was cheaper, they'll go on and tell you upgrades were done to the gates and all the money goes to fixing the temple. I didn't buy it so I left, then when I came by again they offered 20,000 IDR. Needless to say these people are there...

Terletak di kawasan Cakranegara pusat Kota Mataram, Pulau Lombok yaitu di Jalan Selaparang. Pura Meru adalah peninggalan Hindu Jawa yang merupakan Pura terbesar dan terpenting kedua Pura Hindu di Pulau Lombok yang dibangun pada abad ke-18 yang juga menjadi penanda pernah berkuasanya Kerajaan Karangasem Bali di Lombok. Keberadaan Pura di Pulau Lombok yang mayoritas penduduknya beragama Islam sungguh menarik, apalagi Pura Meru terletak di dekat masjid dan gereja. Dari hotel tempat saya menginap, Hotel Lombok Plaza, jaraknya hanya 1,1 km dari Pura Meru di kawasan Cakranegara. Tepat di belakang Pasar Cakranegara, Pura ini buka dari pukul 08.00 - 16.00 WITA. Saya hanya punya waktu 30 menit sebelum tutup untuk masuk dan melihat bagian dalam Pura Meru. Tak ada tarif khusus untuk masuk ke Pura Meru, ada beberapa orang penjaga yang juga tempat kita beri "uang tiket" yang besarnya tergantung keikhlasan. Lalu kita diberi kain/selendang sebelum memasuki Pura.
