Imam Ali Square or Atigh square ,in English old square, used to be the heartbeat of Isfahan in the past. This square goes back to the 11th century, during the Seljuk dynasty it was main hub of the city. During the Safavid period, the importance of this area decreased and they moved the main centre of the city to Naqsh-e Jahan Square. It has lots of historical monuments around it, including a bazaar, Imam Mosque, Harun Vilayat, a madrasa and Bagh-e-Ghoushkhane Minaret (Ali Minar).
