Alkafeel Museum, located within the Maula Abbas Holy Shrine in Karbala, is dedicated to preserving Islamic history and heritage, with one of its most prominent exhibits being the previous Zarih (shrine enclosure) of Maula Abbas (AS). This Zarih, which once adorned the sacred grave of Maula Abbas, holds immense spiritual significance for visitors, symbolizing the devotion and reverence toward this noble figure. The museum also features a diverse collection of Islamic artifacts, including historical manuscripts, ancient weaponry, and cultural relics from different periods, particularly from the Abbasid and Ottoman eras. While the museum is not solely focused on the life of Maula Abbas (AS), it provides a unique glimpse into Islamic history and culture, making it a must-visit destination for those wishing to reflect on the spiritual and historical legacy of Karbala.

Nice small museum inside the shrine of Abu Fadhl al-Abbas that displays some really nice and valuable collections of artifacts from different Islamic periods. There are swords and daggers, some of which belongs to Ottoman sultans like Selim I and other ruler of various dynasties in Iran. There are also ancient coins, remains of the dome that was hit during the 1991 riots in the South, rare Qurans and manuscripts, etc. If you visit the shrine of Abu Fadhl al-Abbas, make sure to checkout the museum, but pay attention that it closes during prayer times.

Beautifully maintained, but the location is incorrectly tagged here. The museum is located inside the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abbas Raziallahu Anhu, and quick excess will be from the main gate, then first right. Also, during prayer time, it won’t be accessible.

This is a place which is not now bye most of the people not even the people on duty there.

This Al Kafeel musium is situated inside haram of Hazrat Abbas alamdar A. S. in male defined area.

Bad thing we faced is no fix opening time of musium displayed anywhere and no clear answer about it from people around on duty. In this case we need to just stay around and wait to get it opened.

For females to visit, need permission from on duty people to cross male area and come to museum entrance.

Once you enter in the museum don't expect anything of more than 300 years back. If you came here to see the things directly related with imam Ali, imam Hasan, Imam Hussain or Abbas alamdar A. S., you will be disappointed.

You will find here of collection of about last 300 to 400 years only. And all displayed are mixed one like war and instruments, vessel, stamps from different countries, coins of different countries, recent past incidences, photographs of recent past etc. but definitely it will take you to past and make...
