Cabinteely Park is a large public park with moderate slopes down to a small river with duck pond. It has a woodland area, wildflower meadow and open areas each with paths through them.
There is a large playground with a sand pit and equipment for every age from toddler to teen. There are picnic tables and grassy areas for picnics here. Public toilets are provided at the gate to the playground.
Cabinteely House is in the park which offers tours occasionally. There is a cafe through which you can visit a arranged Japanese style garden. The garden is quiet and you can take your tea out to it or go for a short stroll. There are toilets in the café and nearby.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has a multi function arts centre on site.
There is clothes, plastic, aluminium and glass recycling in the carpark.
The park has multiple entrances but only one carpark. It's a short stroll from rhe Park to Cabinteely village on one side and the Cornelscourt Shopping Centre...
Read moreThis is a really beautiful park .Old, broad leaved trees, wild meadow areas and a network of paths around and through the park.set the scene There is some beautiful planting with a good variety of shrubs and spring and summer planting and large grass areas. The amazing "Face" sculptures are well worth a look. There is a small lake and 2 excellent good sized play areas for children, with a big sand pit complete with a working drill and climbing frames and a zip line. There are also swings for children in wheelchairs which I have not seen elsewhere. The down side of the park is the toilets at the playground area which are very old and shabby and smelly. There are newer toilets which charged 20 cent a few years ago but are free now. They are not clean and I don't understand why people would object to paying such a small amount to help pay for clean facilities.( I am assuming this is what happened) After all the park which is such a wonderful amenity is...
Read moreThis place was class. We were visiting family in Dublin and were taken here. The ages of the kids were 2,4,5,7 and 2 months old. There was so much for the kids to do; climbing, slides, swings, sand pit, ninja course, and much more, they all had a ball. The carpark was a short walk from the play area. I imagine parking spaces gets more difficult as the day goes on, we were there first thing in the morning. We had small babies in buggies. Amazing green spaces and nice footpaths for the kids to run around and for the buggies. There was a coffee shop there but we didn't use it. There was also toilets in the playground, which gets a big thumbs up as the car was too far away for the potty for the 4 yr old. I would defo recommend 2 adults if there are more than one active children. The play spaces are spaced out over a large area and depending on the ages of the children, they may want to do things in...
