I love this place it is an oasis far from the madding crowd and next to one of my favourite university walks DCU. No I'm not an academic but I love places of learning and to walk amongst great minds of the past present and future. Anyway back to Albert College I am a proud Irishman but equally proud of our contribution to the world even before our independence. Dublin was once the second city of the empire . Prince Albert loved this country and again with the complications of history he was a German as was and still is the heritage of the British Royal family. The husband of Queen Victoria her great love he visited Hampstead Park as it was known in 1853 and was renamed after his visit. History at out doorstep. Did you know he brought the christmas tree from Germany to these islands and is now part of our culture now. The park is beautiful a dog walkers paradise, playgrounds, tennis courts soccer and Gaelic pitches are in abundance and very safe and well manicured. Go on take a leisurely walk with Prince Albert be proud of the fact that we are now independent but still accept our heritage and made us what we are today. You see it's not just park it's a time capsule and its ours. My two best friends love it too...
