What an unexpected delight this was! Our trip to Skellig Michael was sadly cancelled due to bad weather. But we made the best of it by enjoying a little more of what Portmagee had to offer⊠which isnât a whole lot quantity-wise (itâs a very small & seasonal fishing village), but wow the quality we got out of our visit to the Kerry Cliffs (amazing views) and a visit at Portmagee Whisky made our journey down to this south point of Ireland very worth it! Seamus was exceptional in his knowledge of overall distillation, whisky tasting, and the product itself. We did a tasting experience with Seamus and it was a highlight to our day! Very enjoyable to listen to with many fun stories to tell. We walked away with a bottle of their 9 year⊠most excellent Irish whisky! There is a small store front/tasting room in a container-like building. And they also have the dome on-site for other tours/experiences. To say this is not a big operation is an understatement. Rather, visiting Portmagee Whisky is more of a cozy intimate experience. This is a newer distillery, with future plans to implement environment-friendly practices. Wish them all the best in...
Read moreJohn ,his Mom and cousins helping out were lovely. Animation on the North Pole is a little different to the Seine boat projection( that's on the Whiskey tours). Also met another of their cousins who I let contact drift with so that made me happy. She was there with her husband and 3 children. The distillery shop open. Went in after Santa - who was lovely. Gave my 19 year old a gift bag too. There was face painting and drawing in first dome we could have circled back to. A snowy display with little tractors etc. The smallies found it had to look not touch. 3 year old also very interested in trailer in their own yard and goats in the field. We would have stayed a little bit longer but driver wanted to move on. Got to sample whiskeys in the shop and bought a bottle. My 3 year old liked it,didn't have far to travel or wait. Can't comment re olders kids. 19 year old liked seeing toddlers reaction, she probably would have liked if there's was a market to look around. The gift bag had a picture to colour and enter into a competition, some chocolates, colouring pencils,a windchime/ Christmas decoration to colour and hang...
