Out of this world. To return again ten years later see the maturity of fauna. Old trees standing proudly. The scents of flora. Buzzy Busy bees, hornets, butterflies. About. Beautiful walks garden or river walj. Streams, weird. Calm. Tranquillity. Old house magnificent. Owner still with us aged 90 years young. Beautiful for families and all ages interested in nature. Cafes, shops art everything Irish, local Avoca on sale. Entry fee charge to gardens. Seniors discounted entry. Amazing helpful staff. Don't forget not take booklet explaining details of areas and trees. As all numbered so if not in the know of your acorns you shall need booklet. Your nose will tell you when in eucalyptus tree gardens you shall smell and so inhale its scent. Wild gardens so alive with everything living. Take time to sit on a bench or in the lawn. Inhale, exhale. Close your eyes . Listen. Water, life. Time out. Give.yourself 2 to 3 hours. Don't rush. It's...

It's a lovely place, very well maintained garden and beautiful flowers, plants, etc. However, it's very expensive for my liking nearly €40 for 3 adults and 1 child and nothing good that I could find for a 6 year old boy to do. He was very bored. We also got food as you're not allowed to have a picnic onsite, my mam paid nearly €30 for lunch which was only 1 tea, quiche, baked potato, sandwich and orange juice (the food was very nice and my aunt got herself some cakes to bring back, she paid for that separately). So basically before we'd even been to see the garden, €70 has already been spent and depending on where you're driving from there is the petrol cost and toll payment too. Unfortunately due to these factors, I can say, I don't think I will be going back there...

Mount Usher Gardens are a must visit if you enjoy nature, plants and gardens, or just need to lift your soul. Despite the overcast day, we were given a sunny welcome by James to the gardens.

The garden guide included descriptions of 87 of the 5000 species of trees, shrubs and plants in the gardens. What a super way to help us enjoy and learn while we meandered through the gardens! The views, the colours, the scents, the shapes were a treat. The river Vartry curves and meanders through the gardens.

Mrs Madeline Jay, who rescued and owns the gardens ensures that the gardens are managed organically. Avoca manages Mount Usher with tender loving care. We spent the day enjoying these sumptuous gardens. A visit to Mount Usher will bring you joy anytime of year and in...

This place is so magical! We stayed actually inside Mount Usher Gardens in the founders original home. Katherine welcomed us and made us feel very much at home. Our bedroom had the most exquisite and breathtaking views over the botanical gardens which have to be seen to be believed. We slept very comfortably.. everything was immaculate, hot shower, tea and coffee available in the room. The breakfast provided was outstanding with homemade breads and either homemade muesli or fresh fruit salad followed by scrambled eggs with either mushrooms or bacon. If you're wanting to visit the stunning Wicklow region, make sure you stay at the Mount Usher Gardens...you definitely won't be disappointed.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Can't believe I've never been. The staff in the ticket office were so lovely and helpful. I left my bag behind at an outdoor table and it was handed into the ticket office. They got my car keys and tried to check if my car was in the car park. They were asking everyone if they owned the car. I was looking around the shops and was approached. I was thrilled because losing my handbag and car keys would have been such an anti climax on what was a great day out. I have high praise for the staff. All very friendly. I will be back and won't be leaving my bag behind 😂
