N11 at the Ashford House — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Wicklow

We arrived and we were welcomed by a lovely girl Claudia she couldn’t of been more welcoming and helpful had our drinks starters which were fine then main course came . My friend got the beef and veg ., the beef was so dried up it was like leather and the veg was so hard we wondered if it had been cooked at all so we handed it back . And said maybe we would take it in a doggie bag for the dog rather then waste it .. When bill came .. the beef was still on it so we asked for manager so another waitress came to table .. and instead of saying sorry I will take it off we were told that was the way it was served and no one else had a problem ? We had the dinner in a plastic container. . So we said we didn’t like it and we didn’t eat it it hence we were not paying the rest of meal was fine so we had no problem paying for that ! . Again she disagreed and said why didn’t we say it sooner ! We said we handed it back as soon as we realised. She went to the chef again and came back again and said that we were to give back the doggie bag if we weren’t paying for it .. we handed back the plastic Container .. but in my whole life I’ve dined in many a restaurant in many countries and never ever have I been treated so unprofessionally and basically be littled because the dish was cooked badly .. (not our fault ) needless to say I would not return or recommend anyone else to if this is customer care in 2024 I give up . I’ve read other reviews and seems like we are not the only ones with a dislike for the beef ! And saw other plates being cleared with veg not touched ! It shocked me that a chef could have that control over the front of house ! . Whatever happened to saying sorry it’s not to your liking can I get you something else? .. it’s not cheap to dine out .so when people do it’s a genuine treat to be treated like this disgraceful! So they can keep the doggy bag and the rubber beef and hard veg and paste like gravy . It’s a big no ...

Had such a good experience the first night that we went back the next week but not as good the second time. First night we went it was packed busy, we ha no reservation but we didn't mind waiting a bit extra for food and the staff were good, they were attentive and there was a fantastic energy in the place. The music was 80's style and the music wasn't overly loud but you could definitely hear it. I got the brie and the pasta with chicken. Brie was fantastic, mouthwateringly good, the chicken was steamed and done beautifully but the pasta dish lacked a little bit of Flavour only for the cheese but I nearly reached for the salt.

The second night we brought another person with us. We struggled to have a conversation at the table due to the music being way too loud and we were seated further away from the speakers this time. I got the brie and tempura cod with skinny chips. The brie serving was much smaller than the first one it was still 3 wedges but 2 of the wedges were less than half the size of the other one. The tempura cod was nice, the fish was nice and flaky and the chips were nice too. We had to ask for another round of cutlery and the woman we asked seemed quite annoyed that the cutlery was sent back with the finished starters. Also left us a steak knife short so we got up and got one ourselves. Nobody came to check on us throughout the main, had to call someone over to order more drinks in the middle of the main.. Got 3 cappuccinos and all 3 were lukewarm coming out to us.

We will try it again and I'll update my review accordingly. Maybe I expected too much coming in the second time and had my hopes up but I'm just hoping that the staff were just having an off night on the...

Was at N11 on Saturday night I could not recommend the place any higher, from the time we went in the door till the time we left the staff were amazing you have a fantastic network of workers that were so helpful and always on hand we were never waiting on a drink. The food was amazing as always the garlic and chilli prawn pil pil is best I've ever tasted. I've yet to eat here and the food not be top notch. The staff are always cleaning as they go the place is spotless the bathrooms are sparkling at any time I have used them. Myself and a friend usually breakfast here for a week day catch up when the kids are in school and again we are made feel so welcome and nothing is ever to much hassle. On a few occasions I've Brought my young daughter who had special needs for breakfast with us and the staff are so accommodating we could choose where is best to sit with her anything she wanted to eat was no hassle and if the odd meltdown started they couldn't been any nicer or helpful. The restaurant runs like clockwork it's a pleasure to go out on a Saturday evening in the N11 the music is always fantastic 👌 and with staff so friendly and up for a laugh the place is hard beat.
