Good food with an excellent view but the beach club / lido is pretty poor. This review is in two part because we had lunch and spent the day in the Lido here.
Lunch - the food was great. Usually comfortable trattoria style. Expensive but not extraordinary for Capri. €60 for two courses, two soft drinks and water. Service was terrible, no bread etc and it took 30 mins to get the bill - I’ll be more assertive next time! The menu is also fairly small, which I think is a good thing but focuses on pasta and seafood.
Lido / beach club - average to poor. €25 per person includes a deck chair and towel. They take credit card. The place need a refurbishment, see the pictures. There is no shade or umbellas, just the shade attached to the deck chair. There was no bar service to the deck chairs, you had to go and order up at the restaurant. There was no direct access to the sea - all access was roped off and you had to walk out and around the lido to swim in the sea - which kind of defeats the purpose of being there, the free public beach has better access.
Separately the water and free public swimming access here was great. If we came back we would skip the beach club and put towels down on the rocks and concrete...
Read moreLido del Faro is a stunning, picturesque spot perfect for a scenic swim or a refreshing jump into the clear, turquoise water from the surrounding rocks. This isn't a sandy beach, so don't expect to dig your toes into the shore. Instead, the charm here lies in its dramatic cliffs and natural rock formations.
There are a few lounge chairs up top if you're looking for a more comfortable place to relax, but many visitors simply lay towels directly on the sun-warmed rocks to soak up the sun. The vibe is low-key and natural, with the rocky setting offering a unique way to enjoy the sea away from the typical crowded beach scenes.
If you're looking for a serene swim, beautiful views, and a more adventurous approach to sunbathing and water access, Lido del Faro delivers. We were lucky to experience the most surreal sunset I've ever seen. Just bring water shoes if you're sensitive to...
Read moreWe hired a scooter & ended up here for a swim. There's a free car park at the adjacent lighthouse (well, free for scooters, anyway) & then there's a steep walk down a proper path to the beach area. If you have mobility issues, this could be difficult.
We only used the public beach so can't comment on the lido facilities. The seating area is quite small, so I can imagine it gets overcrowded quite quickly in high season - hence the appeal of the lido.
The "beach" itself is not a beach - there's no sand, etc, just rocks. Entrance to the sea is via jumping in or using ladder(s) attached to the rocks. This is not really a beach for toddlers - the water is deep & the waves can be quite strong. If you're a competent swimmer, then this is a really good place to jump in & enjoy the sea. The area is also outstandingly beautiful - it was the best we saw on our day...
