When I have to make an impression, I admit to having taken advantage of the fact that I live near the bay, and in any season, cold or hot, at night or during the day, from the sea by boat or by motorbike, I have always managed to amaze. Part of the Conero Park. Its territory with small valleys and hills almost completely covered with Mediterranean scrub; it is dominated by the massive presence of Monte Conero which, with its cliffs, delimits the area to the south; to the north, instead, Portonovo overlooks the sea with a white stony beach with a sinuous course and that towards the west curves into the bay that gave its name to the town. On the beach, gravel and stony sections alternate, with very white and rounded limestone pebbles, considered one of the peculiarities of the town. The presence of the woods directly in contact with the beach, together with the open views towards the majestic mass of Conero, constitute a great attraction of the...

Unfortunately the water was not clear and it was polluted near the shore. Bubbles floating on the water that remained all day long.

The beach is made of stones and pebbles. Not difficult to walk on as they are rounded but it is better to wear proper sandals or shoes for rocks.

After 2 meters in the water there is fine sand. Stones are almost white and this give the water a clear blue color.

Beach is quite narrow so the people is quite near to each other and it is crowded during August.

There are 2 beach resorts and restaurants.

Pedal boat renting service by the beach resorts.

It is quite difficult to find a parking space. I suggest to come early in the morning or in the...

The Portonuovo Beach is accessible by vehicle and there are hotels and restaurants nearby. The Beach site is located at the feet of the Mont Conero. The site is not much impressive but full of amenities as visitors can find all beach services. The Mezzavalle beach front can also be accessed by walk from Portonuovo. The water is shallow with rocky bottom, which makes movements difficult inside water. During most of the summertime the water is crystal clear. The place is worth visiting for site seeing and for excursions as there is a little...
