Where to begin?… we came to Le Masse on a whim as there are so many places to choose from and we are from the US so I just looked at the map and saw some photos and a few amazing other reviews and booked a tasting. We arrived late and were told by Jlenia (which we would expect) that the tasting would unfortunately have to be cut short because the next guests were arriving soon and we were 30 minutes late. Be began tasting their different wines and learning about how unique there are and how small the batches are, when the wine maker himself came in and introduced himself to us. He was so excited and passionate about his craft. He showed us the process, and the machinery used to removed the grapes from the stems. He gave my nephew pomegranates from the trees and a bunch of grapes for us to try and fresh juice as it was just about harvest. Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at this beautiful family estate in Barberino val d'Elsa, we knew we were in for something special. Jlenia was our incredible guide who brought the entire story of Le Masse to life with such passion and knowledge.
The wine tasting was exceptional! Each wine told a story, and Jlenia's expertise made every sip more meaningful. The bottles feature Christiane's own hand-painted labels, adding such a personal artistic touch. The setting in their historic cantina surrounded by vineyards and olive groves created the perfect atmosphere.
If you're looking for an authentic Tuscan experience that combines exceptional wine, sustainable farming, artistic vision, and genuine hospitality, Fattoria Le Masse is an absolute must-visit. Thank you to Jlenia and the entire family for sharing their beautiful story and...
Read moreThis place is simply delightful. This is a smaller winery and olive oil producer Fattoria (“farmhouse “) Le Masse in Barberino D’el Elsa, which is owned and run by a man named Robin, and his wife, and they have a couple of small children (and a charming old dog!). We got to meet them and he is very friendly and talked to us for a while. He clearly loves what he does and has a passion for wine and olive oil and for the earth itself. Jlenia works there and handles the wine tasting and the tour, and she couldn’t be more delightful- friendly, knowledgeable and very expressive. We sample about five different wines, which were exquisite, and we were there for about 2 hours just enjoying every minute. Finally, we put an order in for some wine to ship home and then we said goodbye to our new friends. You must...
