Picò - Pizza e Cocktail — Restaurant in Barberino Tavarnelle

Don’t bother going to this place as the servers are rude and the place inside is small and the outside is full of mosquitoes! Get an even better view at the benches above the parking lot ! Get great tasting pizza at Cafe lounge bar pizzeria!

Having just arrived to town, we didn’t have a reservation so the waiter was upset at us from that point. The place is extremely small inside but they have lots of empty seats outside. We were finally given a seat outside after 10 minutes waiting where the bugs were active and hungry as well.

As we were being eaten alive and the wait for them to take our order was over 15 minutes, half of our older party left. We asked for takeout and the waiter rudely told us that we would have to wait even longer now and left. We said that half of us would eat there and bring pizzas home to the rest. We saw one waiter tell the others not to serve us.

After waiting now more than 20 minutes, we gave up and walked thirty seconds away to Cafe Bijou lounge bar and pizzeria Here, the owner welcomed us warmly and took our order for six pizzas right away. He had music playing and we danced while waiting for our order to be made. He also gave us free rose wine which was delicious. They proofed their dough well. As I make my own pizza and focaccia, I know quality pizza and the ingredients they used were fresh and local! Also, the prices were cheaper than Pico.

Don’t waste your time getting subpar service and attitude at Pico, go up the street to Cafe Bijou and be welcomed with open arms, delicious food, great atmosphere and an owner who has a dj table providing you with great music and dancing opportunities.

In sum, you can get the same views that the two tables at Pico have for free at the benches above the parking lot without the rude cranky...

Such a disaster ! We arrived with a reservation at 8 o’clock . It took 5 minutes for the bartender to even address us a word - even though the restaurant was absolutely not full yet… Finally got to our table but there surprise : most of the table are on the terrasse which is on the street- which means NO VIEW at all! This could be stated on the website or within the confirmation email- as their main marketing point is « Panoramic view ». Anyway , we waited for 25 minutes at our table, never received a menu or asked if we wanted anything to drink while waiting … Nobody had a look on us , even if one of the waiter was on the terrasse just taking time to dress other tables for future guest… We decided to leave, there again the guy at the entrance didn’t care at all when we move to explain the situation to him !! Definitely not a...

I have gone my whole life thinking I am eating pizza until I ate REAL pizza. I have had supposed “Neapolitan” pizza, but THIS…this is what pizza dreams are made of. The dough has a bit of sourness to it and is slightly charred. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. It is cooked to perfection in a wood stove, and brought to you at the perfect temperature to immediately consume. We started with the Caprese, which was served with small pieces of (I assume) pizza dough and was absolutely delightful. Then we shared the best Margherita and Fab 4 (four cheeses) pizzas.

Giovanni was so nice and took the time to explain his process and chat with us a bit. He is from Napoli and clearly is well adept at the art of pizza. Thank you Giovanni for your hospitality and for the best pizza we will probably ever taste...
