Disappointing visit compared to other wineries in the region. The tour was meant to be 1.5 hours, so we booked a taxi to pick us up after 2 hours. The tour guide was nice but her English was hard to follow and she misunderstood our questions. The tasting only includes current release wines, so you can't try their Barolo in its drinking window. The tasting was rushed, with small samples provided.

The tour finished after 1 hour, so we had an hour before our taxi picked us up. We asked to purchase a glass or bottle to drink during that time, and they refused - I think on the basis that they don't want people hanging around all day, however we were the only ones there and explained that we would be leaving after one hour. You can't go for a walk amongst the vines due to there being machinery everywhere, so we just had to sit there for an hour until our taxi came, which was not...

Booked a tour. The tour was maybe 10 Minutes, no more information than a quick run through the cellar. We are big wine passionates, so we love to learn new things and discuss their way of producing wine etc. During the tasting we were left alone for several times because some other visitors came (spontaneous, they didn't book a tour) and got to try the same wines as we did. In the end we had to pay the tasting fee, the other group did not... The prices of the wine at the winery are higher than you would find them in most other wineshops in the region... all in all, not personal, too expensive for the "tasting/tour". Our guide seemed friendly but the whole experience was...

Scheduled tasting for several people. Merely 4 wines offered which was explained by essentially being sold out. Neighboring table, however, had a set of 8-10 bottles on the table. Reason unknown.

Some family history about being the first to introduce Riesling to the region and about a strawberry-bouquet wine based on a mystical glass bottle with a label. Well.

The wines were okay-ish for my taste. Representative Isabella was nice. Cover charge of 25 EUR per person.

All in all rather...

I arrived to taste some amazing Barolo wines but received what you see in my photo. The Barolo I tasted was way too young (2021). I’ve cancelled my other tastings at other large producers in Barolo as you are only a number. I will move on to smaller, family owed wineries in Barolo where they value new customers and let you preview the wine you read about in Wine Advocate.

We were so lucky to have a wonderful afternoon outside the winery, tasting wine in the shade. An enthusiastic young man shared knowledge of the wines and lovely stories from the family, We'll never forget how Kyè got its name! Mr Aldo Vajra himself passed by and said hi, a pleasure to meet him and get to know the place a little!
