As we were driving from The Valley of the Temples toward Sciacca we saw this village way up high on a mountain, it looked so cool way up there that we decided to make a side trip and back track a bit the next day. Totally worth it, the views from the top were stunning, 360 degree panorama vistas out to the sea and the interior valleys. The ride up in a car is not for the feint of heart, the winding twisting roads are often without guard rails and if you are sketched out by heights you might not want to add this one to your list. It's also advisable to bring some water for the hike up as it's hella hot up there and the wind will accelerate your dehydration. It isn't a tough climb up though, as the stairs all have railings and while the steps are crumbling in some areas, overall it was pretty well maintained for what it is.

What a secret gem. We were the only ones in this stunning Norman castle. The views are SPECTACULAR. You can see for miles and enjoy the 360 degree view. The steps are steep, but it's worth it. Completely free to enter.

Definitely worth the hike all the way up to the top. It has an amazing view of the surroundings and if possible visit in late afternoon during sunset. You won’t regret it!

This ruin is part of the area with the old cathedral and the Castello. It's accessible from the parking Caltabelotta which is free and quite spacious. The Castello is located in front of a rock which you can climb via stairs. It's 5 min walking up and the view is...

We visited on a very windy and cloudy day, which made for an adventurous climb up the many steps, past what little remains of the castle. Despite the conditions, the views were amazing and would be even better with sunnier conditions. Thoroughly...
