My family and I was able to visit Legoland Water Park during our stay this past weekend at the Legoland Castle Hotel. A two day park hopper was included with our hotel package so of course we took advantage of visiting the water park since the weather was pretty warm. The water park is located in the back left corner of Legoland so you do need to walk through almost the entire park to get there. We got in pretty quickly, there wasn't much of a line of people waiting to scan in their tickets.
The water park is a pretty good size. They have a good amount of lounge chairs for guests to sit in - it is first come first serve so you either need to arrive when the park opens or wait for a spot to open up. Unfortunately it took a little while for my family and I to find seats that were in the shade but they did have a bunch of lounge chairs in the sun. You just have to be able to withstand the burning heat. You also have the option of renting one of their private cabana's but after checking the prices online I realized its more for groups that may be splitting the cost. $150 - $250 is quite expensive!
They have a large area with lockers for guests to safely keep their belongings. There's also a big restroom located right at the front of the park that was nice and clean. From what I saw there was only one place to get food, we ended up getting pizza and fries for my son to eat after he was done swimming. Be prepared to wait in a long line since everyone else is going there as well!
I did like that they had a few nice pool areas for kids to have fun and play. There were two specific pools my six year old son loved hanging out at during our visit. They also have a huge slide for older kids and adults but we didn't end up checking those out. Unfortunately the lazy river was closed also while we were there, which was surprising because I'm sure that's a big attraction for guests and it was a Saturday afternoon - one of the busiest days of the week. I'd say maybe 1/3 of the park seemed to be closed while we were there. Hopefully they open the entire water park soon especially since summer is approaching! If I had paid full price admission to get in I would have been disappointed but since it was already included in my hotel package it wasn't too bad for what we got...
Read moreIt's all good until you want to go on the slides. We went into the water park on the cheaper €20 ticket which means you get access after 1400. With the park open until 1900 I thought that would be plenty of time, that is until we joined the queues for the slides. There are three main water slides and the queues for them are insane. They are only this way because of the woefully inefficient way riders are despatched down the slides. Whilst queueing at the bottom of jungle rapids for a ring I timed gaps of four minutes inbetween riders! It's completely unnecessary and entirely avoidable. Riders are not ready at the top of the slides for when people exit at the bottom, it's that simple. Staff are dispatching one slide at a time at the top instead of all three and that causes a huge, slow moving queue to form. We left the water park at 1845 having spent half of that time stood in queues for the slides. The rest of the park is fun, the kids loved the huge playground complete with massive tipping bucket on top and the swimming pools complete waterfalls. The lazy river is fun despite a bizarre rule insisting that any child under the age of eight wears a flotation vest, regardless of swimming ability. Our six year old is a confident swimmer, but still had to wear one. It's bizarre because I saw a child in front of us actually get trapped underwater inside their rubber ring only because they were wearing a flotation vest. All this whilst the closest lifeguard was oblivious due to fact he was looking at his phone instead of paying any attention to what was going on. There is a no phone rule on the lazy river which should surely also apply to lifeguards. The kids enjoyed the lego city and the build your own ship area, which includes a mini river where you can test out your creation for seaworthiness. On entry we were given a wrist band that you can credit with money to buy food and drink, it also controls your lockers. I say lockers because they are tiny and as a family of four, we needed two. At €5 each. Also you can't get any money you put on wristband back off at the end of the day. In summary, it was fun for the kids but an experience tainted by inefficient Queues. An experience I will be in no...
Read moreMy 5 year old son had a super fun day at Lego water park.
Since my son is scared of all kinds of “ride”, we plan to go Only legoland. I saw few negative reviews about inefficient management of legoland, but luckily everything went so smoothly.
However, I strongly recommend NOT to buy meal voucher you order your ticket. It brings you really limited options- we couldnt order food we want at one of “designated” restaurant. we can only order one of 4 menu- even though we are willing to pay more, it just cannot be. (Also if you order cheaper menu than you paid, you cannot use the balance)
Also, We find, actually you can buy legoland ticket separately, once you enter the garda land.
We would like to come 2-3 days Only legoland but we couldnt find option. If we knew we can buy extra legoland tickets, we would had bought 2-3 consecutive days combo tickets, not oneday ticket.
Besides that, things were good. Very clean and beautiful. I see lifeguards are obsessed with life vest under 8 year old, but i see it was flexible- only 1m pool & slides.
There was cashless bracelets so no need to carry wallets, and credit card were also accepted at bar& restaurant.
Sunbeds were more than enough.
Not a big water park, but we feel worth to...
