Really disappointed with our experience. We booked the “I PREZIOSI” wine tour at Berlucchi through their English website, where it clearly states that children aged 0 to 6 are allowed, but not recommended due to the tour’s length and dim/humid environments. There is no mention of an age restriction — just a recommendation.

We selected the Italian-language tour because it was the only one available at a time that fit our schedule. We never accessed the Italian version of the website — we only used the English one, which took us directly to a page where we could choose the tour, time, and language. At no point did it say that children are prohibited from joining the tour.

When we arrived, we were told our 6- and 7-year-old kids were not allowed to join because minors are not permitted on Italian-language tours — but they are allowed on the exact same tour in English. The tours are identical in name, content, and price — only the language is different.

This was not communicated anywhere in the English booking process. If there are different rules based on the tour language, that must be clearly stated. We booked in good faith, based on the available information.

As a result, only my husband could attend while I had to return to the hotel with our children. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially from such a respected winery. I hope they improve their communication and update their website for...

Until today, I was a big fan of Freccianera and Berlucchi products, and I was really looking forward to the winery tour I had booked three months ago to finally get a behind-the-scenes look.

However, what awaited us upon arrival was simply shocking and unacceptable. As soon as we entered the grounds, we were aggressively honked at and shouted at by a driver in a Mini Cabrio. The unfriendly and disrespectful tone of this person – who turned out to be the founders' daughter – was completely inappropriate and left us speechless. The staff who were supposed to give us the tour were visibly embarrassed and apologized for their boss's behavior. She herself just stormed past us.

It is beyond disappointing that customers at Berlucchi are treated with such little regard and apparently not made to feel welcome. After this experience, it is clear to us: this winery is absolutely not recommended. I had been looking forward to this visit for months, but instead, it felt like a slap in the face.

We will now be looking for a new favorite winery in Franciacorta, as Berlucchi is no longer an option...

La presente recensione è soltanto indirizzata al Palazzo Lana ora Berlucchi, non ai vini (sono astemia, mi sì scusi). L'edificio antico risale al XVI secolo ma fu eretto su preesistenze medievali appartenenti alla famiglia Lana de’ Terzi, nobile casata di origine bergamasca da cui discese Guido Berlucchi. Notevoli trasformazioni si ebbero nel XVII secolo, raggiungendo la fisionomia attuale. La palazzina d'ingresso, preceduta da un cortile nobile e da una cancellata, mostra -sopra il portale- un grande stemma affrescato, che appartenne alla famiglia Lana. Sul lato orientale, databile al 1700, si può vedere (sula strada laterale con sottopasso) un'elegante loggetta di cinque campate con archi a tutto sesto retti da colonnine tuscaniche. Attualmente si vedono impalcature. Gli interni conservano saloni e affreschi di grande interesse. Tra l'altro è conservato l'unico ritratto di Caterina Cornaro, regina di Cipro (ospite del Palazzo nel 1495, secondo la tradizione). L'ultimo residente della dimora fu Guido Berlucchi (+2000) che dai Lana discendeva. Egli, nel 1955, si mise a produrre un vino bianco chiamato "Pinot del Castello" poiché i vigneti erano coltivati sui fianchi della piccola collina sulla quale sorge il castello di Borgonato. Nel 1961 nacque il primo "metodo classico" di Franciacorta ad opera dell'enologo Ziliani. Quel Pinot fu il capostipite di tutta la produzione locale, divenuta famosa in tutto il mondo. Sicuramente Berlucchi fu ispirato dalle atmosfere magiche delle cantine seicentesche del suo Palazzo, che ancora oggi costituiscono un vanto. Il complesso è situato lungo la strada principale, a due passi dalla chiesa parrocchiale di S. Vitale e ai piedi della collina dove si ergeva il castello con annessa chiesa di San Salvatore (prima ancora vi era un'importante corte agricola, documentata nell'879 d.C.), ancora esistente malgrado rimarchevoli rimaneggiamenti.
