This was our second trip to the Florence/Tuscany region and beyond using Tusci in the past several years. and they were as usual absolutely amazing. Airport transfers to and from Florence are easy and they were always on time for a prompt and easy pickup and drop off at the airport in Florence.
What sets them apart is their absolutely amazing customer service and customizable day trip excursions. On our previous trip Allesandro and Leonardo gave us great tours of the Tuscany region including Sienna , Pienza., Montepulciano,, Montalcino, San Gimignano , several wine tours, and other hill Towns in the Tuscany area. Along with that, they arranged one of our most memorable lunches at Osteria da Divo in Sienna along with another lunch at an Agro Tourism restaurant that i cant remember the name
On our recent trip in September we used Tusci again and they didn’t disappoint. Airport transfers to and from Florence were exceptional. More to come on that.
Doing a few things different this time, we had Leonardo arrange more customized day trips for us. The first day was out of the Tuscany region and into Modena and Bologna. We had an amazing tour of a small boutique prosciutto producer in Modena, followed by a tour of the Ferrari museum., then a lunch and tour of a balsamic vinegar producer. Regarding. The proscuitto tour, i had a dumb American moment and messed up my metric conversions. We bought some proscuitto to bring back to the air bnb to eat for the trip but guess i bought a kilo. Luckily. I dindnt get stopped by US customs with the leftovers. and was able to enjoy after we got back to the states
Our next trip were some wine tours which being a wine enthusiast was probably the best tour and lunch i have ever had. The tour started at the Malenchini winery which is a pretty quick drive outside of Florence. The harvest was still i progress and we got to see the harvesting of the grapes (taste the grapes) , see the crushing, de stemming and pumping into the fermentation tanks followed by meeting the head wine maker and tasing the partially fermented current vintage. Did i forget to mention that Malenchini is an old Medici villa which we got to tour, eat some delicious ripe fruit in the gardens and visit their wine aging cellar. Followed by that we had an amazing tasting of their wines, olive oils accompanied with a huge spread of cured meats and cheeses.. Followed by that was a delicious. Lasagna and all of the 6 bottles of wines from the tasting were left on the table for our consumption as desired.
The next stop was the Torre a Cona winery estate. This place was absolutely gorgeous and the wines were great, but the Malenchini experience with the tour, lunch, and wines were significantly better. I should have relied on Leonardo as he arranged the Malanchini visit and i setup the Torre a Cona visit. The tour was great but Allesandro set the expectations super high so i should have relied on the experts I want to give great thanks to Samuela as well as he was our guide on the wine tour day. He was just as amazing as Leonardo and Allesandro
Back to the airport transfers and being super flexible and accommodating. We had a scheduled pickup from the Apartment with Tusci in the mid afternoon for a 3 pm flight to Rome. The issue was that we needed to be out of the apartment by 10am and had nowhere to store our luggage. A quick call to Leonardo and he was able to pick us up within 45 minutes. To avoid sitting at the airport for several extra hours, he took us to a few amazing places just outside of the Florence center for some great views such as the Piazzale Michelangelo, BasĂlica de San Miniato al Monte, and a good breakfast we shared with Leonardo. A bit extra on the airport transfer service, but minimal and made our last day in Florence very memorable versus sitting in an airport for and...
Read moreWe went to Florence, Italy for the first time in May, 2024. We booked Tusci in advance for a day trip to the Fontaleoni Winery (which they completely booked and set up for us - and it was wonderful), and for another day trip to Cinque Terre - they dropped us off at one port and after we went by boat to the 3rd port, they picked us up there so that we could really get the Cinque Terre experience - which as AMAZING). One day one brother, Leonardo (Leo) took us (make sure to ask about his dog, Mike!!) and on the other day, the other brother, Alessandro took us. They were absolutely amazing and so helpful in teaching us all about the land, the countryside that we were driving through, and they were incredibly pleasant to be around! We actually all hugged when we left and it was special. They were more than accommodating about changing or adding time for us when we decided to change our plans last minute! They were also extremely helpful with their suggestions and making additional reservations for us. Absolutely loved our time with them and can't wait to go back and see them in the future. If you are looking for a private service to take you anywhere in or outside of Florence, please look no further. You will NOT be disappointed I promise!! The Sito Family will be...
Read moreWe knew that a visit to Cinque Terre merits a longer visit, but despite that we decided to go for one long day. We were given a recommendation for Alessandro from Tusci Car Service - Firenze and we are so glad we decided to book with him! He arrived promptly at our hotel in a luxury Mercedes van. It was such a comfortable ride! It was about a 2.5 hour drive each way, and along the way he gave us an entertaining and informative explanation of everything we saw. The time went very quickly and soon we were parking at the top of the “second” village of the five, Manarola. Alessandro expertly led us through some narrow passages between houses, trattorias and little shops, down many steps, until we reached the main street. It was everything we had imagined and then some! We spent some time in the town before Alessandro helped us purchase ferry tickets to Vernazza (and Monterosso). Alessandro made sure we made it on the ferry and then we were on our own for the next few hours. When we were ready, Alessandro picked us up right on time, and we made our way through the mountains to get back to Florence. We highly recommend Tusci Car Service, and especially Alessandro!
