Villa Calcinaia was nothing short of amazing. We actually stayed four nights at the winery in one of their beautiful air bnb accomodations. There's not many places that you get the privilege of staying in a piece of history. Jackie was very welcoming in setting us up for our stay and showing us around. Staying on the property we were able to walk the beautiful grounds which was a great way to end each evening. We even saw fireflies on our last night which felt pretty magical. The wine tasting and tour Luca took us on was fantastic. He took us around the property to tell us all about how they make their different varities of wine before providing us with an excellent selection of wines and olive oil to taste. On an unplanned journey, a wonderful road lined with cypress trees made us turn back and decide to see where it would lead. It brought us to Conti Capponi, a beautiful, magical place filled with amazing aromas. Not only of wine, but also of the kitchen.
