The paleontology museum in Montevarci is a small but information packed museum for any fan of dinosaurs, evolution and the natural world. We paid a visit on a Thursday after walking around the market. We were welcomed by a friendly lady who spoke excellent English. Il Museo Paleontologico di Montevarchi viene aperto nel 1829. Ospita fossili del Valdarno risalenti a tre milioni di anni fa, tra cui mastodonti, tapiri e tigri dai denti a sciabola e mammut. La sezione archeologica, inaugurata nel 2016, espone reperti etruschi e romani, tra cui monete, ceramiche e strumenti cosmetici. Schönes Museum mit vielen Tierknochen und Schädeln (zB vom Mammut) und einigen Keramikstücken. Nicht allzu groß, aber interessant. Sogar unsere Kinder haben sich dafür begeistern können.

Der Eintrittspreis ist in Ordnung. Für Familien gibt es eine Ermäßigung.

Das Museum hat einen Aufzug, für diejenigen die nicht mehr die Treppen steigen können oder wollen.
