If you are looking for delicious and authentic food, great wine and excellent staff that gives you personal advice on what you should try, this place is for you.

My husband and I are on our honeymoon and followed a recommendation from our hotel to find this place. When we entered we tried our best Italian but soon learned that all the staff spoke better English than us. So even though the place was mainly frequented by Italians, it is a place where tourists are also welcome with open arms. A really attentive and friendly waitress helped us translate the Italian menu and recommended two great starters, we also followed her recommendation on the main ( I had the Tuscany lasagne and my husband had the Cappeli with fresh truffles, both were devine) followed by maybe the best tiramisu, I’ve ever had.

We both love food. On our holidays,we travel the world and try good, amazing foods together. That’s what we do. So, trust me when I say, even for us this was exceptional.

And for everyone that is afraid of the Italian menu, please keep in mind, having a menu only in original language of a country is always a sign that you will get authentic food and not a tourist trap. And here you have the great staff...

Abbiamo scoperto per caso il borgo aretino di Montevarchi uscendo dalla A1 per una degna pausa pranzo dirversa dal solito autogrillo. E qui abbiamo scoperto, sempre per caso, il ristorante Le Mura del Cassero, situato nella pittoresca Piazza Vittorio Veneto di questo antico borghetto. Questo ristorante è stata una vera sorpresa in grado di combinare la tradizione culinaria toscana con un tocco moderno.

L'atmosfera del locale è accogliente e raffinata, con un arredamento che riflette il fascino storico della zona. Il personale è estremamente cordiale e attento, rendendo l'esperienza culinaria ancora più piacevole.

Il menù offre una buona gamma di piatti interessanti... Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto toscano di salumi e formaggi, che era semplicemente delizioso. Come primi piatti, abbiamo scelto i pici alla agliata e i tortelli di patate al ragù. Entrambi i piatti erano eccezionali: i pici avevano un sapore intenso e aromatico, mentre i tortelli erano morbidi e ben conditi.

Non abbiamo visto la carta dei vini, ma dalle pareti ricolme di bottiglie dalle svariate etichette si evince che ne sono ben forniti... Ad ogni modo con un calice di chianti classico (anche se non ne siamo davvero fan) è passata la paura....

Le Mura del Cassero è un ristorante che consigliamo vivamente a chiunque si trovi a Montevarchi. La combinazione di ottimo cibo, servizio eccellente e un'atmosfera incantevole potrebbe candidare questo locale ad esssere una tappa obbligata per gli amanti della...
