Via Roma 7 Ristorante — Restaurant in Montevarchi

I can’t say enough good things about the food, service and atmosphere at Via Roma 7. We were visiting on holiday from the US, and discovered this restaurant on The Fork. After reading many positive reviews we decided to try it. From the antipasti to first and second courses, the food was next level. We each ordered separate dishes but ended up sharing so we could try some of everything. Some noteworthy dishes included: The chef’s selection of cured meats and cheeses, chicken liver pate, risotto with truffle, risotto with saffron and shrimp tartare, pici with garlic, and the sliced filet with rosemary. Wonderful place with great food and warm atmosphere. We had a lovely lunch here. The menu of this wine bar/restaurant has so many delicious dishes, from local cold cuts and cheese platters, carpaccio, Caeser's salad, fantastic burgers, steak tartare, fillet steak with different sauces including green or pink peppercorns, blue cheese or truffles, seared tuna, octopus with potatoes and home made desserts. Extensive wine list, beers and cocktails. What makes this delightful place so special, are the hosts, Federico and Sabrina, so charming and welcoming. Dreadful! Awful food with terrible service. Pasta was undercooked, Bruschetta was burnt, risotto was tasteless, cheese on the table was the cheapest powdered parmesan possible. Plus we waited over an hour for it all, and the service was inattentive at best. If I want to chew though TV dinner quality pasta I'll go to my local supermarket and warm it halfway up, never here again. The owner then personally attacked us with lies in his response - we didn't take an hour an a half to order, we didn't finish our food, we ordered drinks other than water and we had a toddler with us who made a small mess, but come on. i stand by my statement it is a horrible place and suggest strongly not...
