Cascina Costa Alta — Attraction in Monza

This is an absolutely beautiful location in the countryside of Monza, about 30 minutes by train and then bus to Milan, so it's good for day trips, but it would not be ideal if you wanted to go out late, as the last bus is a little past 10. For us, this was great because we did not want to be in the city at night. Public transport to and from the hostel was a little tricky the first time, but we figured it out. The staff was always very nice and helpful, although the reception is not open when advertised, you can always ask the people at the bar for help, although their level of English might vary, they were always willing to make it work. The breakfast and coffee were super nice, and there is a kitchen, but it is not sufficiently equipped to actually cook a full meal. They have a stove, fridge, and microwave, but for example, there were three pasta strainers but no knife or cutting board that we could find. This hostel is also a venue with a small bar and nice outside space that can be rented out for private parties/events. Our biggest issue is that these events ran past the quiet hours, 10 pm, and there was no notice given as to when they would be happening or for how long. So, in the ground floor room especially, we were kept up by loud music and talking outside. But overall, this was an absolutely beautiful building + surroundings, great for evening walks in a lovely town (especially the central square area), or decently easy day trips to many surrounding cities due to the town's nice connection to...

Esperienza spiacevole con il noleggio delle bici, un mese fa abbiamo prenotato le bici in questo posto, siamo arrivati e ci siamo trovati la porta chiusa, abbiamo provato a chiamare e nessuno ha mai risposto al telefono. Abbiamo pensato che sicuramente può capitare un imprevisto, così non ci siamo persi d'animo e la scorsa settimana abbiamo chiamato nuovamente e di nuovo chiuso, abbiamo chiamato il numero e di nuovo nessuna risposta!! Qualcuno così ci ha spiegato che la persona molto spesso la domenica non si presenta a lavoro, allora io mi domando come sia possibile che un proprietario o chi per lui non si prenda cura dei propri clienti e se sa che un dipendente non si presenta a lavoro non si prende neanche la briga di arrivare sul posto? La delusione nel viso dei bambini è stata davvero la cosa che mi ha più spinto a lasciare un commento negativo su questo posto. Vi do un consiglio spassionato, visto che spesso riscontrate questo problema la domenica, io vi direi di farvi una lista dei clienti che hanno prenotato di modo che se la persona non si reca a lavoro come dite voi per un "Emergenza" almeno potete avvisare con una telefonata, che fa sempre piacere e non costa nulla, le persone che fanno 40 km in macchina con i bambini e vi assicuro che è davvero spiacevole!!! Inoltre questa mattina per messaggi qualcuno mi ha anche trattato con sufficienza, affermando che loro il loro lavoro lo fanno bene. Reconsider booking here if you are not white. The kitchen staff are racist and really don’t enjoy seeing people cook ‘ethnic’ foods, and generally did not know how to talk to people that were not Italian despite this being a literal hostel.
