Some changes from when it was the U.S. military beach. No hamburger grill. Did not look at the other food they offer. Half of the sitting area has rental chairs/umbrellas, and you can add up to 2 more that are full laydown type. 2 sand volleyball areas. Changing cabinets for rent, but there are 2 bathroom stalls and one shower area with door I'm each bathroom that are free to use. Be warned that enough people do rent both sitting areas or cabinets for the season, so availability is first come first serve for the rest. I came here as a youth in the late 60s and early 70s when my Dad was in the military. It was the last U.S. military beach in Europe and made about $150K annually. Despite what everyone was told, it made money and did not lose money 😕 It was also open to all NATO military and families. Right in front of the bus stop (#10)🚏 from Pisa central (takes approx. 35 mins to reach the beach) Toilets are with toilet paper and soap 🧼 Showers available 🚿 Reasonable prices at the Bar ☕️🍺and super kind service from the staff members 👌 14€ for 2 chairs and umbrella on the second row 🏖️ People apparently reserve their chairs for the season, so although it looks free you should check at the first counter on the left side when entering the beach, if it’s not already reserved. You then get a receipt🧾 which you can show to the lifeguards. The beach itself was clean and sandy, it’s also shallow enough for kids to play. I would definitely recommend it for a day...

We found this beach thanks to the reviews others had left so I think it’s only fair to do the same! Great sandy beach, you can choose between the free beach or the reasonably priced beach (22 Euro for the day for two deckchairs, umbrella and two sun loungers - we’ve paid a shedload more for much worse in other parts of Italy). It’s staffed by extremely vigilant lifeguards, has toilets nearby, a bar with nice beer at decent prices (3 Euro a bottle) and a nice relaxed atmosphere. We couldn’t find a space in the car park but there are loads of parking spaces on the road at 0.50 Euro per hour - again, a lot cheaper than...
