Amazing museum, its a must stop if you are in the area, I didn't know anything about this place before I entered and it just blew me away, first its completely free, second it tells the story of the vespa so well that it made me want to buy one and ride across the world with it like some of the expidition vespas on display, this museum really tells a story well, its has all different types of vespas, every different era of vespa is there so you can see a timeline from the start to the modern day, they have vespas that have travelled right round the world and on other long expeditions, they have vespas that were only made in specific countries, they have vespas that have been turned into artworks and other artworks themed around vespas, then they have a separate section for other Piagio brand, they have a room which tells the story of the Gilera motorcycle, the have a Motoguzzi section and an aprilia racing bike section, then they also have all the Piagio three-wheelers like the tuk-tuk as well as some vespa cars and piagio vans, its really a sight to behold and if you get the chance to experience this amazing museum I would definetely do so, and its completely free which is...
Read moreI can to this place without real planning. I went to Pontedera and didn't know what to do, but then my friend said there is vespa museum. This place used to be vespa factory, but then turned into a museum. It has complete vespa model from the prototype until the newest model; engines showcase; motorcycle, bicycle. The staffs are professional and kind and ready to explain.
The museum is very modern, you can download an app and just scan through the motorcycle model, and it will give you information about the specific model. Also in some spots you may find interactive (touch) screen, where you can get information such as timeline, history, etc. One of my favourite Interactive screen is the one where there are some scenes of movies where there's a vespa in it. You can choose which movie you want to watch and see it on screen 😍😍
They also provide children's play area for free, movie or theater area, auditorium, and shops for souvenir. The souvenir prices are ranging from low to high, but the quality is awesome. There is no fee entrance, and you can look and stay as you wish.
Nice place for education, especially for...
Read moreDear Piaggio Family, Great objekts and Vespas, but may I recommend some ideas to be implemented:
Arrival: we arrived with our Vespa, but nothing special outside :-( Pontedera is the home of the legend, so please present it accordingly! Flags, Signs, Banners,… and create some very exvlusive parking lots for Vespa drivers only! We parked our Vespas outside, in the street, After driving 600 km to bring our Vespas home. Make this place really special! Hand over a voucher for free entrance for the Museo to all Vespa buyers and in addition a 25 Euro voucher for the shop. Who cares about that amount, customers who drive to Pontedera are willing to pay much more. And please increase the internal shop, it‘s micro. We should get everything and limited products there. Again: special and unique location
Establish a fantastic Café And please switch on air condition in all rooms and arrange more tours in English or even German - we (customer and fans) are willing to pay for that ;-)
And, and, and… 100 of further ideas!!! Please, be brave and creative, upgrade that location! Thanks a...
