This Museum was a real surprise. I have stayed in Recanati many times but only just discovered the Museum of Emigration. There was so much to take in, I went back 3 times. Beautiful museum with some masterpieces by Lorenzo Lotto but also some other great paintings and ceramics. The palace is great, the lighting of the rooms is excellent and there is a great selection of pieces. Also the part on emigration from Marche is also interesting. A must see if you are...

Bellissima casa museo ricavata nel cuore della cittadina di Recanati, nota ai più per la vicenda umana ed artistica del sommo Giacomo Leopardi. All'interno del museo una sezione dedicata alla emigrazione marchigiana attraverso i due secoli precedenti, una sezione archeologica con le testimonianze del lontanissimo passato del Piceno, e al secondo piano il cuore del museo con le opere d'arte (strepitose) di Lorenzo Lotto. Tre opere che da sole potrebbero costituire il cuore dei più grandi musei del mondo, sopratutto il grandioso Polittico di San Domenico, datato ai primi del XVI secolo, in cui Lotto infonde tutta la sua maestria. Davvero un capolavoro mozzafiato. Consiglio assolutamente la visita, il cui biglietto è davvero poco costoso, a tutti i visitatori del centro storico...
