Carezza Dolomites — Attraction in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

After coming from overrated Cinque Terre we felt we arrived at the right place. we decided to take all ski lift with little hike it showed in the map. Little hike was very deceiving and no clear sign postings after certain point.when we reached Lago di Carezza( which has little amount of water but still beautiful),We wanted to go towards Paolina chairlift and that's where we got lost. we did see the sign by the bridge but we also some people got lost as well, finally we found one guy who helped us and that's why I thought about taking the picture and posting it how to go towards Paolina chairlift. The hike is about 20 to 30 minutes. The most deceiving hike was from Paolina Hutte to Kolner Hutte. In the map it showed one straight line. Nothing like that Lots of bends.Paolina Hutte elevation is roughly about 2125 m and Kolner Hutte elevation is little above 2337 m ( I made a mission to find out the exact elevation for the people like us)We were not aware of this challenge so very unprepared .But still had tons of fun.I would highly recommend it. keep plenty of water, suntan lotion, electrolytes. PS: you can drive straight to Lago di carezza and there is a public transportation available to reach to all these...

Achtung: Diese Rezension spiegelt den Eindruck eine sportlich-orientieren Pisten-Snowboarders wieder. Die Erfahrungen sind aber für sportliche Ski-Carver übertragbar. Carezza ist eines der wenigen Gebiete ausserhalb der Gletscher, das auf vielen Pisten nur sehr wenig seitliche Hangneigung hat, ebenso hat das Gelände wenig Stufen. In Verbindung mit der teils enormen Pistenbreite und dem nicht zu steilen Gelände ermöglicht das Fahren, das woanders nicht möglich ist. Das Gebiet wirkt größer als 40 km, da es nur wenige Ziehwege gibt. Ein Teil der Pisten hat sehr wenig Gefälle, eignet sich aber um so besser für Einsteiger und Familien. Die wenigen schwarzen Pisten gehen in rote über und sind gut fahrbar. Lifttechnisch ist man hier noch old-school, wer jede Variante fahren will (Moser - Alm), muss noch Schlepplift fahren. Die Beförderungskapazität ist aber dem Andrang entsprechend, brechend voll ist es hier nicht. Das Gebiet hat überweigend Südhänge und kann ab März schneearm sein, die Lifte schließen dort 2 Woche früher als anderswo. Dafür gibt es wirklich sehr viel Sonne. Das ist keine Feiermetropole, Stimmung gibt es aber trotzdem ordentlich. Ein echt tolles Gebiet für die, die entweder betont sportlich oder familiär unterwegs sind. Sciare a Carezza, in Val D'Ega, a pochi km da Obereggen, altro comprensorio d'eccellenza fra quelli fino a 60 km di piste, è un'esperienza che appaga per tanti motivi, a cominciare dallo scenario naturale fantastico che regalano il Latemar da una parte e il Rosengarten dall'altra. Eppoi la qualità e i perfetti collegamenti degli impianti (da non perdere, anche senza sci ai piedi, una salita in cabinovia ai 2337 metri della Laurins Lounge, proprio sotto il Catinaccio, la cui terrazza panoramica offre una vista a 180 gradi sulle Alpi oppure un viaggio con la cabinovia "cabrio" che parte da Tires), l'ottimo mix di piste per tutte le abilità che si sviluppano su oltre 40 km di tracciati (la nera che scende sul lato sinistro della cabinovia Konig Laurin è uno spettacolo) e non in ultimo il piacere di una sosta con i piatti tipici dei rifugi che si trovano direttamente sulle piste.
