My boyfriend and I visited the castello di Verduno wine cellar in August. Our guide was fantastic (unfortunately I don’t know his name!)! We had a almost 40 minutes tour with very specific but simple explanations about the territory, the wine, process and the cellar. After that we had a private wine testing (40 minutes or more!)in a very nice room, with the lid of a barrel as a table. We tasted 4 different wines while he was explaining the differences and we also got local food to teste with them. Fabio, who led our tasting, was knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about the wines and their history. The wines themselves were outstanding. We had the privilege of tasting some of the finest preserved wines we’ve encountered, elegant, complex. Three outstanding dishes we enjoyed were sformata of vegetables with a silky parmesean cream sauce, excellent crudo di Fasone and chicken caccitore. We loved the very local wine so much we bought 2 additional bottles to take with us.
