Second time visiting in almost a year with my annual pass. Visited December 2022. Last visited in January 2022. It was much better this time. We were able to explore the outdoor areas not in a guided tour group. We got to go on Susan Constant ship last time but this time only the godspeed and discovery were open so it was perfect. The fort area also had tons of reenactors giving ptesnetstions at most of the houses. Kids were sad blacksmith shop was closed again. They said its usually open when its more busy like in the summer. But the armor repair was open and the musket demonstration area was open.

As i stated in my review last time i visited, make sure you watch the movie in the theater before exploring the museum, it really sets the background. Also don't forget the movie at the end for bacon's rebellion. Its really cool with special effects. Kids enjoyed it even though they had seen it before.

Store seemed to have less site specfic merch this time than last. Was a little disappointed and didn't end up buying anything. Also we got there too late and cafeteria had closed. Other people were trying to see if they could pick up food as they were leaving but the cafe closes earlier than the museum. So it wasn't just us.

The special exhibit that was currently on display in the upstairs area was similar if not the same as the special exhibit at the American revolution war museum. Didn't have time to compare exactly but they were both focused on the stuarts.

Probably wouldn't visit again for a couple years as after 2 visits we think we've seen 90% of what we wanted to see.
