Daio Wasabi Farm Water Mill — Attraction in Azumino

Picteresque Water Mills along the Tate River are notable feature of the Daio Wasabi farm.

These watermills were constructed as part of the set for Akira Kurosawa's 1990 film "Dreams" . They appear in the final segment titled “The Village of the Watermills.” An old man who lives by one of the mills (played by Chishū Ryū) explains to the protagonist that life without harming the environment or relying on modern conveniences is not only possible but deeply fulfilling. The watermills thus become a metaphor for balance, simplicity, and spiritual purity.

駐車料、入場料等かかりませんのでこちらに来た際は立ち寄るべき場所かな？と思います。

お年寄り同行でも水車、お土産屋は、駐車場から近いので苦なく行けると思います。

尚、園内はかなり広いので、全て回るとそれなりの体力が必要かと思われます。

お土産屋前で生わさび、擦り器が売っています。全く無知でも店員さんが優しく教えてくれます。 ※生わさび→冷蔵で５日ぐらい持つそうです

ちょっと風味は落ちるかも知れませんが、チューブ入り生わさび？も売っています。 ※こちらも要冷蔵です

もし、旅行プランでここを考えている方 車で行く予定の方は、クーラーボックスまたは保冷バック 電車等で行く予定の方は、折り畳み式の保冷バックを持って行くと購入した商品の運搬も安心できます。 お土産屋で保冷バックを有料で買えますが保冷性能(保冷時間)を考えると個人的にはオススメしません。 保冷剤もお土産屋で購入しないでコンビニで売っている凍ったペットボトルを保冷剤の代わりにしています。 ※溶けたら飲...
