土曜日の10時過ぎに訪問。今夏開館したばかりの新しい美術館です。 美術館横（東側にあります）の駐車場は台数が10台あるかないかなので、タイミングによっては少し離れた臨時駐車場に停める必要があります。伊部駅とは通りを挟んでお隣同士。徒歩圏内に食事ができるお店がいくつかあるし、備前焼の窯元やギャラリーも多いので、電車で来てゆっくり周るのも良さそうです。 １階は無料で、備前焼の歴史を紹介した展示室あり。２階は有料で、企画展でした。2025.9.28までの「ピカソの陶芸」展は、東京・青山のヨックモックミュージアムのコレクションを引用した展示。ロッキングチェアで写真が撮れるコーナーも、ヨックモックミュージアムのコーナーそのままでした。 展示室があまり広くないので全体的にボリュームも少ないのが残念。 3階は展望室になっていて、伊部南大窯跡や周辺の備前焼の窯元の煙突風景を見ることができます。

This is NOT a review of Pottery Museum which is completely torn down and being rebuilt (as of january 2024). The exhibition gallery at the train station building - 3 minute walk - shows a wide range of significant Bizen potters. I saw many beautiful examples, current and past. A small bit of historical info. I found it easy to purchase a few pieces...

Bizenware is very different to many other types of pottery so this museum is worth a visit. While there is very limited English language, there are many information boards covering the history and production of Bizen pottery that can...

Extensive collection of pottery from the ancient kilns in the area! Variety of styles inc some modern sculptural pieces. Very impressive works. Easy access right...
