Oasa Shinmachi Park — Attraction in Ebetsu

Easy to miss park--I've lived in Ebetsu for years and never noticed it. I found the long slide while looking at pictures of parks and decided to go. The parking "lot" is only big enough for two cars at most. There's a simple bathroom, vending machine, and a covered bench or two.

My kids enjoyed playing on the play equipment and there are a couple of swings as well. The long slide in question is fun, and doesn't have the "roller" style that heats up your rear; however, as a result it's not very fast and even my daughter almost stopped halfway. Fairly fun though, nice to slide a few times but there's no clear path back up (you have to take a long path around or just climb the hill.

There are a couple tennis courts but apparently you have to pay to use them somewhere at a different location. Something like 50 yen for an hour (not sure).

There used to be a path that led over the stream nearby but seemed to be closed for quite some time.

So, it's a nice little "hidden" park but suffers from the same as many parks here--you can tell they were built some years ago and used to be nicer, but have declined over the years. There are so many of those here in Hokkaido (and probably...
