Hanazono Forest Rose Garden — Attraction in Fukaya

It was opened in 2008, February 6th, with the name “Rose and Sweets Chateau.” バラとスイーツのシャトー。I visited this place many times on my way to and from Chichibu. The garden looks lovely, especially in early summer when the roses are blooming beautifully. These pictures I took on June 21st 2025. In the past, 17 years ago, it was only a wide rose garden and the cake shop, but then they added Tofu & bean curd shop, children’s playground, so parents can bring their children to play for free here. Car parking is free. Families can bring their children and watch them play, while they can buy some sweets, coffee, bread, cookies inside the European style building “Hanazono Forest.” Dogs are allowed in the garden here. Pierre de Ronsard restaurant allows you to bring your dogs, but you have to sit in the patio, an outdoor area adjoining the restaurant. Entering the building, in front of you, there are some cakes, sweets, cookies, madeleine, and many flavors of Baum Kuchen (plain, chocolate, matcha green tea, pumpkin, rose). My favorite is “Apple Baum Kuchen”where they place a round apple inside the cake. Go further to the left, you can find “piccolo’s bakery.” They sell many kinds of bread: plain bread, morning rolls, croissants, sandwiches, chocolate donuts, corn mayonnaise bread, etc. My favorite is the cheese bread, I attached the picture here. The texture of the bread is soft, and melts in your mouth. To the right of the entrance, you can find a counter where you can buy some ice cream, and short cakes (strawberry, blueberry, cheese blueberry, pudding, and cheese cakes).
