Kobo Daishi (Kukai) — Attraction in Gamagori

It’s a peaceful place with an amazing, wide view of the ocean and a romantic sunset. There was a cat at the Lover’s Bell, which made the visit even more worthwhile. The place also offers pigeon feeding, but unfortunately, I didn’t see any this time. There’s a coffee shop too, but sadly, it was closed...

こんにちは！今日は蒲郡に立つ圧巻の「子安弘法大師」を訪れましたが、本当に一度は見ておくべきスポットでした！ただ行くのには道は狭いし、大変。

【概要】 三河湾を見下ろす丘にそびえ立つ高さ18.7mの巨大な子安弘法大師像は、「東洋一」とも称されるインパクト！安産・子宝・諸願成就のご利益があるとされ、観光協会のサイトでもその存在感が紹介されています 。初めて訪れると、その大きさに思わず「おおっ…！」と声が出ました。春には桜と一緒に、夕方には海に沈む夕日を背景に、とても絵になる場所です  。

①【ロケーションとアクセス】 愛知県蒲郡市三谷町南山14の金剛寺境内にあります。最寄りはJR「三河三谷駅」でタクシー約7分、蒲郡駅からは15分程度 。車でも細い山道を登りますが、駐車場が無料で用意されています 。但し道がややクネクネしていて、すれ違うには狭いところもあり運転には少し注意が必要です。

②【施設とサービス】 近くにある金剛寺は高野山真言宗のお寺で、本堂参拝後に巨大像を拝めます。境内にはネパール製のマニ塔やマニ車の体験スポットもあり、少し珍しい異国風の雰囲気も 。展望台「ラバーズヒル」や「恋人たちの丘」も整備されていて、カップルや家族にもおすすめ。御朱印受付もあります。週末や休日は訪れる人が多いので、平日午前中の訪問が穴場。
