We came on a Sunday. Most of the town was closed and deserted.
Apart from the fish, which were cute but underwhelming, this excursion was a waste of time.
I also thought they were wild koi and swimming freely in the canal... but they are caged into sections of canal. Disappointing.
You can buy tiny bags of fish food at regular intervals along the canal. Honor system: take the bags and drop 100 yen for each into the collection box.
Just bring your own bread/food for the fish.
If you plan for 2 hours here, that's plenty for the entire town.
