Madarao Mountain Lodge — Attraction in Iiyama

We enjoyed great hospitalities from Mark and his wife Abby. Easy communication with Mark via emails and WhatsApp pre-arrival. Very competitive cost per night for family stay in a ski in ski out accommodation (it will cost you at least 3x more in Niseko/Rusutsu which we have been before). Mark managed to get us discounted Ski passes and Ski rentals. Dining at the lodge is the highlight of our stay (aside from skiing in madapow!). Abby is a masterchef and we have literally tried all the items on her menu, from tempura soba to her Sushi Dragon roll, to western dishes such as fish and chips and nachos. The daily cocktails and wide varieties of drinks at very affordable price often too up great sumptuous meals from our four nights stay at the lodge. We were blessed with great snows during our stay and enjoyed the madapow!

Overall this ski trip is made enjoyable by great hospitalities from Mark and Abby, and very good value for money.

Mark and his team at Madarao Mountain Lodge are amazing! If you are thinking of coming to the area definitely stay here! Mark and his wife merge the perfect blend of Aussie and Japan to make every guest feel welcomed!||The accommodations were great, the food and hospitality were second to none! Really enjoyed the hot breakfast and coffee each morning, my kids are pickey they had toast and a few cereal Choices as well! For dinner try the dragonroll, fried squid, and a burger…all very yummy. Oh and if you want a great cocktail order the Fuji Fireball = fall in a glass!||Highly recommend eating dinner here at least one or 2 nights and go explore the area (walkable) as well. ||If you need help with equipment or a tune-up Mark and his team will help you out!||Look no further bring your family and be treated like family! This was a fantastic place to stay. We had six nights here and enjoyed every minute. We are a family of five and so the lodge was very comfortable, warm and economical. The family room with its own bathroom was cosy and so convenient. The food was amazing, really beautiful in flavour and great value and the hosts did everything they could to make our stay hassle free. This included loaning us some ski gear and providing reliable, local tourism advice on local attractions.|The snow was great, some amazing powder and it’s so easy to get to the ski fields. A quick five minute walk. |We are so pleased that we found this lodge. This was our first trip to the snow in Japan and we will be back. We highly recommend Madarao Mountain Lodge.
