Compared to other beaches in Ishigaki this particular one is neither particularly pleasant nor special. More so, the resort lays claim to the entire beach making the sea accessible from 9 to 5 thus having a cake and eating it. Clearly somebody misunderstood the entire concept of "beach" and "fun" - this is not office opening hours. Furthermore, I detest the notion of treating adults like autistic 3 year olds. It is connected to the very fancy resort hotel (non-guests allowed to access the beach) which means you have access to a nice shower, changing rooms, bar overlooking the ocean and other cafes which offered pretty good food after a long swim. In terms of overall enjoyability for a beach, it’s not much and there wasn’t much to see in terms of snorkelling. There are far better beaches in Ishigaki to “enjoy the ocean”. Keep this place in your list if you really want to pamper yourself during your trip and not worry about very basic facilities...
