Get a bus from either asahikawa station or kamikawa station direct to sounkyo. If u intend to fully cover the area, plan a night stay in the local sounkyo hotels. The mountain view is gorgeous with snow covering the top and the trees starting to turns yellowish. These twin waterfalls are the result of melting snow from the mountain and the views are spectular. It very nice water fall it was more than I Expected . I can only imagine what the waterfall would look like after all the snow has melted. I think this place is pretty good just to come and maybe have picnic and listened to the waterfall.
