硫黄谷庭園大浴場 — Attraction in Kirishima

The largest onsen place I've ever been to, it's almost like a water park. There is also a good variety of baths. I highly recommend trying this if you're in the area. Even if you're not staying at the hotel you can purchase an entrance ticket for about ¥1200 (from memory) along with the option for a rental bath towel for an additional ¥200. Although it's a little bit expensive I think it's worth it. Generally, the onsen area is mixed sex however there are ladies-only areas, along with time periods of day when only ladies are allowed to enter. Make sure to check the times...

Best onsen I’ve been to!!!! Biggest bath and so many varieties. They had a sauna as well with cold water bath from the mountains of Kirishima which was super refreshing.

The quality of the onsen water was superb and my skin felt so smooth a new soft afterwards.

I highly recommend the outdoor bath which is located at the very end of the bathhouse.

They had enough a mixed bath area (female and male mixed area) do not enter the mixed bath...

The check in time was 3 pm. We could enjoy the hot spring bath without many visitors. There were 7 different kind of hot spring pools in the women’s side. Nice shampoo and conditioner with Royal jelly. The reason of 4 stars was no lotion provided like other hot spring hotels. But they did have fee lockers inside the changing room to store...
