江戸時代初期、古河城主土井利勝（どいとしかつ）が江戸で家臣の子供たちに桃の種を拾い集めさせ、古河に送って農民に育てさせたのが始まりです。 領地では燃料となる薪が乏しかったので、成長が早く果実が食料となる桃が選ばれました。 明治時代には、花見シーズンに臨時列車が運行されるほど賑わいました。 古河市では開園を機に、花桃（花を観賞するための桃）を植えて桃林を復活させました。 （ ↑ 引用させて頂きました） 時期が合えば綺麗な光景が観られるでしょう。

桃の花はもう散り始めたって感じです。 風が吹くと桜吹雪にならず、桃花吹雪はそれで綺麗です。 明日からまた雨の予報なので、週末過ぎたら多分見頃はすぎるでしょう。 有料駐車場の桜も8,9分くらい咲いて、そろそろ満開ですね。

2024.4.2訪問 桜の開花が遅れたので、桃の花はまだ咲いているかと思ったのですが、やはり少し遅かったようです。彼岸くらいが一番きれいなのでしょうか。それでも咲き残っている花はきれいでした。
