On a steep hill is an almost forgotten but curious site. I think the hill is too steep for general tour buses to reach hence there's not so many visitors to this site although the carpark has quite a few lots. We were alone when we dropped by. It's a curious site as it's basically an observatory tower modelled after the Okinawa Rail, a bird that is unique to the island. The observatory is not too well maintained as it was rather dirty inside. The view atop is also not that great, but it's closer to the mountains behind and has a better view of it from here as compared...

A somewhat abandoned observatory tower to get fantastic views of the coastline on a clear and sunny day. The tower is shaped as a bird, which adds to the uniqueness of the tower and blends well with the scenery. However, the road leading the tower is very narrow and steep. Do note to drive with caution and look out for oncoming traffic. I would recommend to skip this attraction if there is too much traffic here, as parking is limited as well.

Really cool place to see Cape Hedo from. Great scenic view of the East China Sea and northern most part of Okinawa. And how often do you get to climb up in a giant bird and get to look around? Parking lot is really small, as in only 6 or 7 cars can fit there, but if you wait a few minutes I’m sure a spot will open up. If you have kids this is a great place to let them work off a little energy running up and down stairs and around the little...
