Spring is the best time to visit this slightly out of the way temple.The garden is unusual as it is a stroll-thru, as opposed to most other temple gardens which are made for viewing only. There is a pond too and a whole load of cherry trees which you are able to enjoy without the inevitable crowds biting at your heels. A beautiful garden and scenic pond with a small temple on-site. It was very quiet when we visited. Get here from the Ono stop, one stop before Daigo-ji.

Really underrated temple for autumn colours. Well worth the trip to escape the crazy tourists crowd in key sights at Kyoto!
Has a nice pond and a lovely small pagoda inside of it. It is also close to a subway station so it is easy to get to!
