重要文化財の如意輪堂は 醍醐寺を開山した 聖宝が876年に准胝堂と共に最初に建立した 建物です その後の度重なる火災により消失 しましたが 現在の建物は1606年に 豊臣秀頼 により再建されたモノとの事です 堂内内陣には 本尊の如意輪観世音菩薩や 毘沙門天 吉祥天が安置されているとあります

参道から 懸造りの堂を見上げれば 400年を 経た歴史を感じ 重厚な檜皮葺の屋根は実に 美しい弧を描き お参りだけでナク 建造物と しても魅力があり 見所の多い建物です また 振り向けば ココからの眺めも良く 遥には...
