Nojima Cape Lighthouse — Attraction in Minamiboso

The lighthouse is surrounded by a park with paths around the periphery, following the shape of the coast in a semicircle. Benches are along the path for reading, resting, snacking, you get the picture. A good place for walking dogs and children. Playground equipment is excellent but hard to find. It is near the museum. No camping. I would not go here after dark without an extra-bright flashlight and confidence in one's ability to repel unwanted attention. There are many restaurants serving local shellfish dishes around the grassy commons outside the lighthouse area. One Chinese restaurant. There is a historical museum hidden on a back street. The playground is above and beyond it Parking space is available near the lighthouse and there are several other parking lots further south (Chikura direction) within walking distance. 千葉県最南端であり、離島を除く関東地方最南端でもあります。 入場料は300円。これは隣にある資料館も含めての料金になります。資料館では、野島埼灯台(1870年発点灯、高さ29m、有形文化財)の歴史やデータはもちろんのこと、灯台のしくみや日本の灯台の歴史など、様々な情報を知ることができます。個人的には、ちょうどいい広さで、質の高い良い施設だと思います。 灯台自体は、ビル数回分に相当する高さを、階段101段で登り切らなければならず、特に最後の2､30段は、脚立のように険しい勾配を登る必要があるので、足に自信がない人は充分気をつけていかなければならないと感じました。それと、頭上が狭いので、足元ばかり見ていると頭をぶつけます(経験者は語る)。 でも、展望台からの見晴らしはとても良いです。皆さんクチコミで「地球の丸さを実感できる」と書いておられますがほんとその通りです。大自然の中に住んでるんだなーというプチ感動(みたいなもの)を味わうことができると思います。 灯台を降りて、海の方に歩いて行ってみると、いろいろなモニュメントがあったり、岩場で遊んでいる子供がいたり、楽しめる人は楽しめると思います。特に、一番高い岩の上にあるベンチは人気の撮影スポットで、私が行った時もカップルで写真を撮っている人がたくさんいました。ただ、滑ったり転んだりすると結構危ういので、靴は考えて行った方がいいでしょう。 ちょうど夕焼けが最高に見えるコンディションだったので、南房総市内ー伊豆半島ー伊豆大島ー利島ー新島ー三宅島と、夕焼けの水平線の中に沈んでいく様子を見ることができて感動しました。 アクアラインを過ぎてから一時間半くらいで着くので、休日のドライブがてら気分転換に訪れるのもありだと思います。一帯は観光地ということもあり、海鮮系のお店は割と充実しています。 房総はのんびりできるいいところです。たくさん道の駅が...
