Temple Hotel Habanobo is a hidden paradise. If you are looking for a unique way to experience Japan this is it. |We were lucky to experience Minobu in full Bloom in late March. |If you have the chance to stay for 2 nights, we would absolutely recommend it as it allows you to explore the beautiful surroundings. We hiked the mountain (approximatively 2 hours) to have an amazing view of Mount Fuji at the top (you can also take the ropeway). You reach several temples as you hike up which makes the effort very worth it ! ||The meals at Temple Hotel Habanobo are some of the best we’ve had during our trip. Read moreWe were a large group staying at this temple hotel. It was certainly a highlight of our trip so far: the monk that received us was incredibly welcoming and friendly, teaching us about buddhist practices, sharing the history of the surrounding temples and the Nichirin sect, and helping us to make the best out of our time at the Minobu. We got to participate in the morning prayers and on a rather windy and cold day, we had an opportunity to climb mt. Minobu and were greeted at the top with some warm tea that just lifted everyone’s spirits up. The whole place was welcoming and non-imposing so that the followers of a different faith in our group did not need to feel intimidated or conflicted in attending any of the offered buddhist practices.
