One of the most beautiful places there is in japan! The waterfalls and nature is stunning. That’s a five star for sure! The only thing that brings down the stars, is the small aquariums where they keep the salamanders. No use to keep them like that! It’s not fun to see and if they what that experience to bee good. Then they should give them a big beautiful aquarium where you feel happy to see them. Read moreVery very sad view of the salamanders. All salamanders had the same water tank available as "home". That meant that the 90cm salamander and the 23 cm one had exactly the same available space to move.
Imagine it as if you had to live in a child's playhouse forever.
The irony was that there were posters everywhere informing tourists that they should not take salamanders from their natural environment, during the waterfall walk.

Absolutely atrocious life conditions for these beautiful creatures that are in some cases decades old and too big to even fit in their water tank.
