If you like anime, like to know some of the behind the scenes how to make one, and you are around the area, I would recommend you to visit this place since the ticket price is cheap (¥200). This place is similar in terms of behind the scenes of making anime to the one in Tokyo, but free ( Suginami Anime Museum). The place is not so big. They have some interaction things you can do which is fascinating. The best part is the special exhibition that they changed every several months. The ticket is a bit more expensive compare the general ticket, but if they exhibit your favorit anime, I would definately recommend you to...

Only a 160¥ if you show that you have the bus loop pass so can't complain tbh. Neat permanent exhibition but not particularly interested in most of the series. Would say that like maybe 30% of the content has English support but mostly can be overcome by using Google lense if you want. The special temporary exhibition (which was Apothecary Dairies when I went) is a fair bit more expensive at around 1500¥?

If you're a weeb and going along the loop anyway it's probably worth stopping by for the other stuff surrounding. And especially if the current special exhibit...

If you're into manga and anime it's a worthy visit. If you're a artist then you might find this more interesting, They had a special 50th anniversary when I visited, which cost 3x more than the standard ticket. Thought it would be a worthwhile exhibition, however you can't take any photos and you can't re enter. The exhibition was mainly just a few pictures of artwork from the special 50th anniversary, and in the main exhibition a lot of things seemed to be missing. Not the best museum I've been to but not the worst. Lots of gasha-pon machines there...

A nice museum around both anime and manga that have ties to Niigata Prefecture. The entry is a couple hundred yen, or free/included if you also visit the rotating exhibition. The museum provides stories about various mangaka and animators born in or related to Niigata, and offers some interactive games like capture Lum from Urusei Yatsura. Most core texts are available in multiple languages, and otherwise there is google lens. All in all a nice intro to the creation process of both manga and anime, as well as niigata's related culture.

Extremely boring place. Only two small rooms and they call this a “museum”? This is not worth the ¥900 entrance at all. It’s just a place full of anime pictures that’s it. Whoever owns this place is a very greedy person. Don’t waste your money and time here. We’re anime fans but left feeling disappointed. THEY don’t EVEN allow you to take photos inside. Maybe they’re ashamed that photos are only what they offer for ¥900/ticket.
