Shirone Kite Museum — Attraction in Niigata

Far exceed my expectations. The 3D movie was interesting and very fun to watch. There were many beautiful kites to look at. My sons favorite bit was flying a Kite in the wind tunnel, he has not stopped talking about it for days 😅. The entrance fee is only 400yen and free for small children. ביקרנו כאן בתחילת נובמבר 2024 וזה היה נפלא הצוות מעולה ומסביר פנים ,הסדנא לביצוע עפיפונים מאוד נחמדה, העפנו את העפיפונים במנהרת הרוח (רעיון מדהים כשלעצמו) ואפילו לקחנו את העפיפונים חזרה לישראל. מרכז המבקרים מאוד מעניין והסרטון על קרבות העפיפונים מתאר את החוויה המקומית בצורה מאוד מרשימה. התצוגה מאוד מרשימה ומפורטת. היא מחולקת לתצוגה של עפיפונים ולתצוגה המתארת את היסטורית של ההתישבות במקום. מתאים הן למבוגרים ונוער והן לילדים. We visited here in early November 2024 and it was wonderful The staff is excellent and welcoming, the workshop for making kites is very nice, we flew the kites in the wind tunnel (an amazing idea in itself) and even took the kites back to Israel. 13年前に訪問した時に印象が良かったので、今度は小学生の子供を連れて再訪。 施設には凧作り体験が出来るコーナーが有り、凧は和凧（小学生以上）、もう一つはそれ以下の子供用のビニールカイトの2種類ありました。 前回同様に、和凧作り体験をしたいと係りの人に申し入れたところ、突然『障がい者ですか？』と聞かれました。唐突すぎ訳が分からなかったので、『どういう意味ですか？』と聞くと、再度『障がい者ですか？』と聞かれました。 その後の説明で、要はうちの子の ”行動がおかしい”＝”障がい者”＝”不器用で和凧作成は無理” だろう、という意図だと分かりました。 うちの子も初めての体験でもあり、少々興奮し過ぎていました。係りの人の話も聞けていなかった所も有りました。 しかしどちらにせよ、オープンな公の場所で、いきなり『障がい者ですか』と聞いて来るのは非常識だと思います。更に言えば、障がい者は不器用だとの決めつけも、差別を助長する発言であり、公共の施設で大勢の人（特に子供）に接する人間として、余りに不用意であると言わざるを得ませんし、その様な業務に相応しい能力の持ち主であるとはとても言えないと思います。 恐らくその人は、言われた人がどう思うか、周りの人がどう思うか、等の考えが全くできない人なのかもしれません。 今回、せっかくのゴールデンウィークの旅が、この体験のせいで少し残念な物になってしまいました。 それはそれとして、凧作りの説明はきちんとしていて、その後、子供も説明を聞き”飛ぶ凧”...
